XRISM Data Analysis

General information for XRISM data analysis is described in the XRISM Data Analysis page at NASA/GSFC.

Data Download

Data ara available either from DARTS or HEASARC.

Data processing version is written in the FITS PROCVER keyword as, e.g., PROCVER=02.01.008.007, which indicates that the major version is 02, the minor version is 01, HEASoft version is 008, and the CALDB version is 007.

At DARTS, all the data procecssed with different major versions are archived, such that the version1 data are archived at https://data.darts.isas.jaxa.jp/pub/xrism/data/obs/rev1/, and the version2 data at https://data.darts.isas.jaxa.jp/pub/xrism/data/obs/rev2.

To download the dataset for a particular OBSID from DARTS (000102000 in the example below), use wget command as,

wget -nv -m -np -nH --cut-dirs=6 -R "index.html*" --execute robots=off --wait=1 https://data.darts.isas.jaxa.jp/pub/xrism/data/obs/rev2/0/000102000/

Decrypting the Data

Data are encrypted during the proprietary period. To decrypt the downloaded data, you need to install the GnuPG (GPG) software. The web-site: http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/cookbook/decrypt.html contains the links to download GPG, and provides a perl script to decrypt the data tree.

Required Tools

The standard tools for XRISM data analysis are included in HEASoft released by HEASARC at NASA/GSFC.

In addition to HEASoft, the XRISM Calibration Files in the Calibration Database (CALDB) are required.

XRISM calibration files can be also obtained from CALDB mirror at DARTS.
