DARTS of the Month

CEF/Orbit

Footprints of STP Spacecrafts

This month we present "two-dimensional plots of spacecraft orbits and ground-based instruments" of DARTS/STP. Clicking "Spacecraft Footprints and Ground-Based Instruments" below "Conjunction Event Finder (CEF)" on the DARTS/STP top page, you can browse today's plot of spacecraft orbits and information on ground-based radars and cameras. At present, the plot shows the orbits of the Geotail, Cluster, Double Star, THEMIS, Reimei, and FAST spacecraft. You can also browse past information. These spacecraft and ground-based instruments monitor plasma behavior in near-Earth space in the Sun-Earth system. By the way, Geotail, which was launched in 1992 and is still observing the Earth's magnetosphere, means "staying in the magnetotail" in Japanese. Did you know that?
