DARTS of the Month

the Tornado Nebula in radio (gray) and X-ray(orange)

A special publication from SUZAKU and MAXI

A special issue from SUZAKU and MAXI is published from PASJ in November 2011.

In this issue you can find many results including MAXI instruments, the first catalog from MAXI, calibration of the SUZAKU instruments, massive black holes, X-ray from Mars by SUZAKU, supernova remnants and more.

The figure is taken from one of the papers in the special issue, "Suzaku Discovery of Twin Thermal Plasma from the Tornado Nebula " by Sawada et al. By using SUZAKU and Nobeyama radio telescope, they revealed the origin of "cosmic tornado", as a bipolar jet from a rotating black hole.

This is the 4th special issue from SUZAKU. Previous special issue from SUZAKU was "New Results from Suzaku" (2009 Feburary). See DOM 2009-02 for other special issues from SUZAKU, AKARI and HINODE.
